Rocky Mountain Patrol & Offroad was found by me, Ian Westmoreland. I am a lover of rare vehicles and have always been fond of exotics. To me machines built for function and all types of terrian are fascinating. I got my first car at 15 years old and my first 4x4 at 16 years old. The first 4wd I had was a 1987 FJ60 Landcruiser. It was a great truck and treated me well for several years. From that first 4x4 came my passion for “special” 4wd vehicles. While still a teenager I saw my first Mercedez Benz Unimog and after that day there was no turning back for me, I had to have the rarest and most capable trucks in the world! While still a teenager I learned of and bought my first Nissan Patrol, It was a 1967 and still fairly stock. I took this truck places I had never been in any other 4x4. I was amazed, I was enthralled and I was in love. Since that time I have had many 4wd’s but very few have given me as much fun and joy as the old 60 series Nissan Patrol. I also have had for most of my life a great interest in the outdoors. The vehicles I am interested in are a gateway to many special places in the outdoors.
RMP&O was founded with one main goal in mind. To keep vehicles like the Nissan Patrol alive and running for us to enjoy for many years to come. Having owned many Patrols myself I have learned all about how hard it is to keep one running, even harder to restore one correctly. I set out in 2002 gathering information and making contacts around the world for this specific vehicle. I learned much and made many good friends. From that work comes a wealth of information on the Nissan Patrol and also my sources for parts.
