FOERS IBEX

-Foers IBEX: The Foers IBEX is a custom made off road vehicle. These vehicles are available in 4x4 and 6x6 form and are design and built by John Foers in the UK. These vehicles come in some standard models such as the 240, 250, 280 and 360. These being SWB, MWB, soft top, hard top, pick up and others. The first IBEX was designed and built in 1988 and since that time only a few hundred others have been produced. The vehicle was design because something a bit better than the Defenders was desired. The IBEX has a somewhat radical design in that the body is folded for ease in repair, they feature a center mounted winching system built into the frame and incredible approach and departure angles of 85%. Generally supplied in kit form and fitted with donor parts from Land Rovers the IBEX can also be purchased as a complete vehicle. These trucks can basically be designed to use what ever engine and drive train you desire. Price for an IBEX rather reasonable considering the amount of truck you get. They can be custom made to order with special attention to the buyers needs. The early Mark 1 IBEX feature gull wing doors and the later IBEX 2 has conventional doors. IBEXes have been sold in many parts of the world but are most common in Europe. The are world renown for competing in 4wd rallies and races. They almost always do well in these challenges. An IBEX can be ordered with full event specs. This means the truck is outfitted with all the bells and whistles for anything you may encounter off road or competing. Center mounted winching system, deep water fording, undercarriage protection, extra recovery points and so forth are all part of the full event specs trucks. These trucks are still built and design by John Foers and we hope he keeps building them for many more years!
